Adani solar crosses 15,000 MW in module shipments

India’s Adani Solar has achieved a major milestone, shipping over 15,000 megawatts (MW) of solar modules across India and global markets. This makes it the first Indian manufacturer to reach such a scale in solar production and exports.

Of the total, approximately 10,000 MW were supplied to projects within India and 5,000 MW were exported overseas. The company said the shipment volume represents roughly 28 million solar modules, covering an area equivalent to nearly 7,500 football fields.

Adani Solar noted that about 70 percent of these modules were built using its India-made solar cells, reinforcing its commitment to local manufacturing under the government’s “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives.

The milestone underscores India’s growing strength in renewable manufacturing at a time when the country’s solar capacity is expanding rapidly. Industry analysts project that India’s solar module production capacity could exceed 125 GW by 2025, positioning the nation as a major player in the global clean energy supply chain.

Building on its momentum, Adani Solar plans to expand its manufacturing capacity from 4,000 MW to 10,000 MW within the next financial year and aims to ship an additional 15,000 MW in the near future.

The company estimates that the modules it has shipped to date are capable of powering around five million homes, supporting 2,500 green jobs, and helping avoid nearly 60 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

With a distribution network covering more than 550 districts and over 35 channel partners, Adani Solar continues to strengthen its footprint in both domestic and export markets.

This achievement highlights India’s accelerating progress toward its 500 GW non-fossil energy goal by 2030, marking another step forward in the country’s clean energy transformation.
