Reliance Infra to unveil integrated solar manufacturing hub

Reliance Infrastructure has announced the launch of a highly advanced, end-to-end solar manufacturing ecosystem in India. The setup will cover the full value chain — from producing ingots and wafers to manufacturing solar cells and modules — using next-generation technology. The company says this integrated approach will help address India’s rapidly growing need for solar equipment, with national demand for modules expected to surge sharply by 2030 while upstream manufacturing capacity still lags behind.

Alongside solar components, Reliance Infrastructure is also building a large-scale battery ecosystem. This includes battery cell manufacturing, pack assembly lines, and containerised battery-energy-storage systems designed for utility-scale applications. The aim is to strengthen energy security, reduce import dependence, and support India’s expanding clean-power and storage requirements.

Reliance Infrastructure (part of the Anil Ambani–led Reliance Group) operates across multiple sectors including power generation, transmission, distribution, infrastructure projects, and defence. The company has been focusing on reducing debt, restructuring operations, and expanding its presence in high-growth areas such as renewable energy and smart infrastructure. Its shift toward advanced solar and battery manufacturing aligns with its broader strategy to play a significant role in India’s long-term energy transition and infrastructure modernisation.
